The film follows the life of Tiger Nageswar Rao, a legendary real-life robber of Stuartpuram, Andhra Pradesh in the 1970s, who was noted for his ingenious ways of evading the police and prison. He then grows up to become a skilled thief, who robs rich people and distributes the money among the poor. He also falls in love with Mani, a local girl, and marries her. He also develops a rivalry with Raghavendra Rajput, a corrupt CBI officer, who is determined to catch him.
